The giant 25-foot Christmas tree and the Gardens will be illuminated for the first time during this holiday season with thousands of twinkling lights sparking throughout the desert landscape. The ceremony will include performers from local churches and CCUSD student choirs.
The tree lighting will be followed by a special screening of the popular holiday film, Elf, in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion.
Free hot chocolate and holiday treats will be available, along with snacks for purchase.
That jolly old elf himself joins us for Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9–11 a.m. in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion. Enjoy free photos with Santa and a performance of Sing! Sleigh Bells Ring!, a holiday celebration in song featuring talented area youth.
Held in conjunction with Rural Metro Fire’s Holiday Toy Drive, attendees may bring a new toy, canned good or suggested donation of $5 per person for admission, with proceeds benefiting Foothills Food Bank.

Local favorites Vicki McDermitt and Chirp bring their talents to Carefree for a free holiday performance, with Valley favorite Jerry Donato accompanying on saxophone! Presented in partnership with Spirit in the Desert and Music Serving the Word Ministries.
Opening the evening is a performance of holiday favorites by the Cactus Shadows High School Jazz Band, directed by Kevin Brady.

Step back in time with us to Christmas Eve 1944… Somewhere overseas a bevy of Hollywood’s top talent are performing for our brave men fighting in World War II. As an audience participant, you will become one of those brave men, watching as hit songs like “Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy” and “Jingle Bells” are sung by the Andrews Sisters, and “Thanks for the Memories” is sung by Bob Hope, along with many others.
This brief travel to the past is sure to please and will make you proud to be an American!
Tickets to the performance are $15, and may be purchased at the door or online at Pinnacle Creative Arts.
Congregants from Temple Chai, as well as members of the Jewish Social Group of Cave Creek and Carefree will host a Chanukah Menorah Lighting every evening beginning Sunday, Dec. 22 through Sunday, Dec. 29, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion. Local families will be invited to light the menorah each evening, with a special ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 22 that will include the Temple Chai Cantor and Choir.
Each evening’s lighting is open to attendees of all denominations and faiths.
