March 7, 2023 Town Council Meeting Summary

Item #1 Town Council Visioning Workshop - APPROVED

Incoming and outgoing council members collectively meet to discuss the vision of the organization moving forward.

Item #2 Feb. 7, 2023 Council Regular Meeting Minutes - APPROVED

Item #3 Acceptance of Feb. 2023 paid bills - APPROVED

#7 Recognition of outgoing Planning & Zoning Commission members

Mayor Crane thanked each of the outgoing board members for their dedication and commitment to the Town. The outgoing members were recognized and received a plaque commemorating their service. The Town thanks the following individuals for their service:

Dan Davee 

#8 Planning & Zoning and DRB Commission Term Limits - DISCUSSION ONLY

Gary Neiss presented the first reading to consider an ordinance to adopt term limits to match the Town Council term limits. No action is required tonight.

#9 Capital Improvement Funds for pedestrian crosswalk improvement project - APPROVED

Town Engineer, Mark Milstone, discussed the need for the design consultant to complete the design process to meet today’s standards. Milstone noted that the Tow received Maricopa Association of Government (MAG) funding to improve these three crosswalks.

Mayor Crane asked to have the design plans available for public view prior to going to council. Mr Milstone expects to receive designs in May, at which time they will allow a public information process to gain input from residents.

#10 Authorization to execute Joint Agency Agreement (JAA) with Maricopa Association of Government (MAG) to fund crosswalk improvements along Tom Darlington Drive, to include Wampum Way, Ridgeview Place, and Cave Creek Road - APPROVED

MAG is the distributing agency; the money is funded by Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). This process is a requirement through MAG to accept these funds.
