Town Center Facade Program

The Carefree Town Center is a unique retail destination and commercial center within Carefree. Created in 1958, as part of original Carefree, the Town Center is home to many locally owned businesses and has an array of building ownership. In an effort to maintain the Town Center’s charm as a retail and commercial destination, the Town of Carefree, in support of the Village Center Redevelopment Plan and the Carefree Council approved Strategic Plan, has created the Town Center Façade Program (Program).

The Town Center Façade Program is designed to improve the visual aesthetics of commercial buildings and maintain and encourage retail business. The Program will provide matching grants, within the Village Center Redevelopment Area, to commercial property owners interested in making an improvement to their property.

Façade is defined as any improvements to the exterior of the building, courtyards, pedestrian access including Americans with Disability Act (ADA) requirements, lighting, landscape and parking areas.
