Dementia Friendly Carefree & Cave Creek

Dementia Friendly Carefree and Cave Creek

The Towns of Carefree and Cave Creek are proud to be recognized as Dementia Friendly communities through the Dementia Friendly America® network, a nationwide initiative dedicated to supporting individuals living with dementia and their care partners.

This designation is made possible through the leadership of Foothills Caring Corps, which plays a vital role in bringing resources, programs, and awareness to both communities. Through their efforts, Carefree and Cave Creek are becoming more informed, welcoming, and supportive places where individuals with dementia can continue to live with dignity, connection, and independence.

Foothills Caring Corps provides a variety of resources and hosts programs such as the Memory Café, Aging with Dignity workshop series, and Music, Memory, and Movement classes, offered in both Carefree and Cave Creek. They also partner with local businesses to help create more dementia-friendly experiences for residents and visitors alike.

Foothills Caring Corps has also released a press announcement recognizing this milestone—read more below.
