The Town of Carefree is kicking off the new year with the return of its popular Garden Seminar Series, offering four free educational sessions to help residents and visitors garden smarter in the Sonoran Desert. Running January through April 2026, the series features expert-led discussions on irrigation, thoughtful landscaping, growing herbs, and container gardening presented in the Town Council Chambers.
Mayor John Crane says, “The Garden Seminar Series is one of those programs that truly reflects Carefree’s spirit—bringing people together to learn, share ideas, and appreciate the incredible desert landscape we call home.”
Perfect for both seasoned gardeners and beginners, the series offers practical, desert-specific guidance for creating landscapes that are water-efficient, sustainable, and visually stunning. Each seminar features local experts and Certified Master Gardeners, providing actionable tips attendees can use at home. A suggested $5 donation is accepted at the door to help continue this popular program.
Whether you want to learn about irrigation, landscaping, or gardening—or are simply curious about desert plants, this series has something for everyone. Save the dates and discover what each seminar has in store.
