If you've recently strolled through the Carefree Desert Gardens, you may have noticed colorful flags marking some of the trees and cacti. These markers simply identify where Christmas lights will soon be installed as we prepare to bring some holiday magic to Carefree!

At its October meeting, the Town Council approved outsourcing the installation and removal of the Town's holiday lighting and decorations to a local vendor.

Previously handled by the Town's Public Works Department, this labor-intensive project takes valuable time away from essential responsibilities, including maintaining streets, drainage systems, traffic signage, public facilities, and the Desert Gardens. By outsourcing this work, the Town can make better use of staff time and resources while continuing to provide the beautiful holiday displays our community enjoys each year.

Installation is now underway alongside the replacement of the Town Center's Easy Street string lights. We ask residents and visitors to be mindful of crews working throughout the Carefree Desert Gardens and allow them space to safely complete their work.

Thank you for your patience as we prepare Carefree Town Center for another beautiful holiday season!
