CPR Classes

The Carefree Fire Department is proud to offer free CPR information classes to help community members gain confidence and skills in responding to cardiac emergencies. These classes are based on the American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) course curriculum, offering a high-quality overview of life-saving techniques—without the pressure or cost of certification.

You’ll learn how to recognize signs of cardiac arrest, perform hands-only CPR, give rescue breaths, and use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). While these classes do not provide official certification, they’re an excellent way to get familiar with the most current, evidence-based CPR practices. These classes are perfect for individuals who want to be prepared to help in an emergency—whether you’re a parent, teacher, or simply a concerned citizen.

If you are looking for certification, please visit the American Heart Association website to find certified courses near you.

Did you know that in the U.S., more than 350,000 out‑of‑hospital cardiac arrests occur each year, yet only about 40% receive bystander CPR? Immediate CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival

Opportunities for Business Owners

Businesses are also encouraged to take advantage of these classes!

If your business has a group of employees who would benefit from CPR training, you can coordinate with us to have them join an upcoming session or if available offer another class at a time and day convenient for your group.

Please note: if your business requires official CPR certification cards, these involve additional fees and must be arranged separately. The free classes do not include testing or certification.
