The Town of Carefree is seeking applicants for the Zoning Ordinance Advisory Group. We welcome residents, business owners, or property owners with professional, technical, or practical experience in planning, zoning, architecture, engineering, real estate, construction, sustainability, legal practice, or business development. While zoning expertise isn’t required, meaningful experience or familiarity with land use and development issues is essential.
Approximately 5–7 members will be identified through a staff-led application review process, with selections based upon applicants’ qualifications and the relevance and diversity of their backgrounds and experience, as well as their ability to engage in thoughtful analysis, collaborative discussion, and problem-solving in support of Carefree’s long-term community goals. The Advisory Group is anticipated to meet approximately six times over the course of the year. Submittals are due by Wednesday, February 25 and should be sent to Planning Coordinator/Deputy Clerk, Samantha Gesell at samantha@carefree.org. Individuals interested in serving on the Zoning Ordinance Advisory Group should submit a letter of interest along with a résumé. Interviews may be scheduled depending on the number of applications received.
